Terms of Use

This End User License Agreement ("Agreement") is a legal agreement between you and ReadMode ("Company", "we", "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the ReadMode mobile application ("App"), you agree to these terms.

If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the application.

1. License Grant

Subject to the terms of this Agreement, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes only.

Under this license:

• You may not copy, distribute, or sell the App
• You may not reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the App
• You may not modify the App or create derivative works
• You may not transfer your license to others

2. User Account

You may need to create an account to use certain features of our App.

• Accurate information: You must provide accurate and current information during registration
• Account security: You are responsible for keeping your password confidential
• Account activity: You are responsible for all activities under your account
• Unauthorized access: You must immediately notify us of any unauthorized access to your account

3. User-Generated Content (UGC)

Our App allows users to share book quotes, reviews, and comments. The following rules apply to this content:

3.1 Content Ownership

You retain intellectual property rights to the content you share. However, by sharing content, you grant us the right to display, distribute, and process that content within the App.

3.2 Content Rules

• Content containing hate speech, racism, or discrimination
• Content containing profanity, insults, or bullying
• Sexually explicit or pornographic content
• Content containing violence or threats
• Content promoting illegal activities
• Content that infringes on others' copyrights
• Spam, advertising, or unwanted commercial content
• Content spreading misleading or false information

3.3 Content Moderation

We are not obligated to pre-approve any user content, but we reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms and to suspend or terminate related accounts.

4. Prohibited Uses

The following activities are strictly prohibited:

• Using the App for illegal purposes
• Attempting to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts
• Attempting to disrupt the normal operation of the App
• Using bots, scrapers, or automated tools
• Spreading viruses, malware, or harmful code
• Harassing or stalking other users
• Creating accounts with false or misleading information

5. Intellectual Property Rights

The App and its content (design, code, graphics, logos, texts) are the property of ReadMode or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

6. Third-Party Services

The App may contain links or integrations to third-party services (e.g., Supabase). These services are subject to their own terms of use, and we are not responsible for their content or policies.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE". To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• We do not guarantee that the App will work uninterrupted or error-free
• We do not provide implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement
• We are not responsible for any data loss resulting from use of the App

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ReadMode or its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use or inability to use this App.

9. Account Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account under the following circumstances:

• When you violate the terms of this Agreement
• When you share content that violates community guidelines
• When we detect illegal activity
• In case of prolonged account inactivity

10. Governing Law

This Agreement shall be interpreted and governed in accordance with the laws of the United States of America. Disputes arising from this Agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of California, United States.

11. Changes

We may update this Agreement from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through in-app notifications or email. Your continued use of the App after changes means you accept the new terms.

12. Severability

If any provision of this Agreement is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
