🗑️ Account Deletion

If you want to permanently delete your account and all associated data, you can use one of the following methods:

Method 1: From Within the App

  1. Open the ReadMode app
  2. Go to the Profile tab
  3. Tap on Settings
  4. Tap "Delete My Account"
  5. Confirm the action when prompted

Method 2: Request via Email

If you cannot access the app or prefer to request via email, you can send an email to bekci.destek@gmail.com using the template below:

Subject: Account Deletion Request

Hello,

I request that my ReadMode account and all my data be permanently deleted.

My registered email address: [YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS]
My username: [YOUR USERNAME]

I understand that this action cannot be undone.

⚠️ Important Warning

Account deletion is irreversible. When your account is deleted:

  • All your personal information is permanently deleted
  • Your book library and reading history are deleted
  • Quotes, reviews, and comments you shared are deleted
  • Your reading sessions and statistics are deleted
  • It is not possible to recover this data

Processing Time

  • In-app deletion: Immediate
  • Email request: Processed within 3-5 business days
  • Complete removal from backups: Completed within 30 days

We will send you a confirmation email when we receive your account deletion request.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

I forgot my password, what should I do?

You can send a password reset link to your registered email address by clicking the "Forgot Password" link on the login screen.

Can I change my email address?

Yes, you can update your email address from Settings > Account section in the app. You will need to verify the new email address.

Can I export my data?

To exercise your data portability right under GDPR and CCPA, send an email to bekci.destek@gmail.com. We will prepare a file containing your data.

Can I temporarily disable my account?

We currently do not have a temporary account disable feature. You can stop using the app; your account will not be automatically deleted.

How can I delete one of my posts?

Tap on your post in the app, then use the "Delete" option from the three-dot menu. Deleted posts cannot be recovered.

How can I report a user?

When you see inappropriate content or behavior, you can use the "Report" option from the three-dot menu of the relevant post or profile. All reports are reviewed within 24 hours.
